A video showing officers of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) demanding money from a Dutch woman while on her way to Abuja on a motorcycle, has surfaced on social media.

In the now-viral footage, the police officers, who appeared surprised that the lady was traveling alone on a motorbike, stopped her and asked her to give them what she brought to Nigeria from her country.

This was after she had told them where she was from and her destination.

“How are you? How is everything? From where? Where you dey go?” they asked.

“See what she is using to travel. She is going to Abuja. How is everything? How is family? Give me something.

“Wetin you bring come? Wetin you want give me? Oya give me something now. Give me something. Give me money. Money.”

In her response, the lady said she was coming from the Netherlands and traveling to Abuja.

She also told the police officers to give her something instead.

The incident took place along the Moniya-Iseyin Road in Ibadan, Oyo state.

Reacting to the video via X, the Oyo police command described the actions of the officers as “regrettable misconduct”.

“The viral video portraying the regrettable misconduct of certain along Moniya-Iseyin road has been accessed,” the statement reads.

“All those involved have been apprehended for immediate disciplinary actions. Supervision will be increased.”
