Yemi Alade has put out the visuals for ‘Double Double’, a track off ‘Empress’, her 2020 album.
The Nigerian afropop singer released the video on Friday.
‘Double Double’ tells the story of a woman rejected by her community because she didn’t have a male child.
Alade played the role of the woman’s only female child who experienced harassment from the people in her community.
She would later become successful and triumph over other male children before the community’s monarch.
In the video, gongs and drums were on her trail as she unpacked her wealth to spoil the monarch.
The video sees Yemi Alade adorn herself with traditional attire typical of people of great repute.
‘Double Double’ comes a few months after the release of ‘Queendoncom’, her seven-track EP.
