Bolanle Austen-Peters, founder of Terra Kulture, has released the first teaser trailer for her directorial debut feature film, ‘The Bling Lagosians’.
The star-studded trailer featured Nigerian movie celebrities like Toyin Abraham, Alex Ekubo, Elvina Ibru, Bisiola Aiyeola, Monalisa Chinda, Sharon Ooja and Osas Ighodaro.
Helen Paul and Broda Shaggi, Nigerian comedy stars, also made a cameo appearance in the one-minute trailer.
The trailer starts with Elvina Ibru bashfully bent on hosting an unrivalled lavish party in the famed city of Lagos. Pasuma, fuji musician can be spotted serenading a party crowd.
True to its name, the film is based on the lives of Lagos’ ostentatious middle and upper class.
Other popular faces in the teaser include Bam Bam, Big Brother Naija star, and Jide Kosoko, veteran Nollywood actor, amongst others.
Austen Peters had earlier shared behind the scene shots of her first directional movie on her Instagram page in 2018.
‘The Bling Lagosians’, produced by Bolanle Austen-Peters Production (BAP), will start screening at cinemas from June 28.
Austen-Peters founded BAP in 2013, where she produced a Broadway-style musical production titled, ‘Wakaa The Musical’, staged at Onikan, Lagos. ‘Wakaa The Musical’ later became the first Nigerian film to play in London, at the Shaw Theatre.
Her feature film on Ebola outbreak in Nigeria ‘93 Days’ was later premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival; the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles, as well as several international film festivals.
