Oluwatosin Ajibade, Nigerian singer better known as Mr Eazi, has put out the official music video for ‘Tony Montana’, his collaborative single with Tyga, an American rapper.
The video, which is directed by skilled Mahaneela, was released on Wednesday, as the singer publicizes his transition from Mr Eazi to Don Eazi.
The visuals was also dropped alongside the audio.
“I had two possible records I wanted to do with Tyga, one uptempo and this one, and he was attracted to this one more naturally. Working with Tyga has been a true collaboration—from writing to mixing, mastering and the video—I’m learning so much from him,” the singer was quoted to have said.
Eazi was recently involved in a copyright infringement controversy with Zaaki Azzay, after the veteran musician accused him of lifting part of ‘Marry Am’, his 1996 single, for the production of ‘Do You’, the Banku singer’s collaborative single with Sarkodie.
“I actually reached out to him, we were messaging earlier today. I am going to get on a call with him to really get to the bottom of that. I am sure it would be resolved quickly. Zaaki is one of my idols growing up you know,” Eazi had said while admitting the claims.
“There is a sample. Actually, if you listen to the song, you will hear it in the beginning and you will see that there is actually a sample. So, it is an undeniable sample and I am sure he will be given, if he hasn’t already been given, his publishing split on that record.”
