Warner Bros has put out the official trailer for the reboot of ‘Mortal Kombat‘, a forthcoming American action film.
The company released the less than three-minute trailer, which is a movie adaptation of the blockbuster video game series, on Thursday.
Two versions of the trailer were released with the more gory red-band version highlighting how violent the film will be.
The trailer is action-packed with a plethora of characters brought back to life on screen. It also shows scenes of gruesome brutality moves, gnarly fatalities, and blood-splattered dismemberments.
The trailer sees Lewis Tan, a British actor starring as Cole Young, a washed-up MMA fighter who bears a dragon-shaped scar on his chest and is being hunted by Shang Tsung (Chin Han), a sorcerer from another realm called Outworld.
Tan was thereafter recruited to fight in the legendary ‘Mortal Kombat’ tournament with the fate of the world in his hands.
The cast includes Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson as Kano, Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero, Mehcad Brooks as Jackson “Jax” Briggs, and Tan in a mystery role.
The film, which was directed by Simon McQuoid and produced by James Wan, is expected to be out in theaters and on HBO Max simultaneously on April 16, 2021.
