Mercy Johnson-Okojie, Nollywood actress, has teased her highly-anticipated movie titled ‘The Legend of Inikpi’.
The film, which is billed to hit the cinema on January 2020, sees the actress make her debut as an executive producer.
In a post on her social media pages on Friday, Mercy expressed her excitement on the new journey as producer.
“My friends, we made a movie! I’ve always enjoyed telling stories, first as an actor and now for the first time as a producer,” she wrote on her Instagram page.
“In starting this new journey, it was important for me to tell stories of women, real women, ordinary women who became great because of their extraordinary choices. ‘The Legend of Inikpi’ is the story of love, sacrifice and the traditions that shaped our past.”

The movie, which is set in the ancient Kingdoms of Igala and Bini, tells a compelling tale of two kingdoms on the brink of war. The short video clip started with Mercy, writhing in pains of labour, and surrounded by other women.
The movie is directed by Frank Rajah Arase and features several Nollywood stars including Odunlade Adekola, Sam Dede, Paul Obazele, Mercy Johnson-Okojie, Saheed Balogun and newbie Nancy Ameh.
The teaser comes few days after the actress and Odianosen Okojie, her husband, announced that they are expecting a baby.
