Marvel Studios has released the first trailer for ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’, its upcoming and first Asian superhero film.
The trailer, released on Monday, introduces Shang-Chi (the lead character), also known as the Master of Kung Fu and Brother Hand, a fictional superhero in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.
In the short video, Shang-Chi is forced to confront his past after he is drawn into the Ten Rings organisation by Wenwu (Tony Leung), his father who is the leader of the gang.
The protagonist is played by Simu-Liu, Chinese-Canadian actor, who had first lobbied and got rejected for a spot on a Marvel series back in 2014. The studio heeded his call five years later for an unprecedented role.
