Kwam 1, Sefiu Alao, Taye Currency, Saheed Osupa, and Malaika were among the music stars who thrilled the audience at the 2022 edition of Fuji Vibrations.
The event, organised by Fuji A Opera, the premier multi-dimensional entertainment platform, was held on December 8 at Muri Okunola Park in Victoria Island, Lagos state.
This is the third edition of the annual event.
In a statement, the organisers said, unlike others, this year’s edition featured “a diverse group of distinguished guests and different generations of Fuji artistes”.
Yeye Eniba, better known as the Queen of Fuji, ushered in the night with a commanding performance.
This was followed by performances from several fast-rising Fuji musicians including Omo Aje Wasiu, and Agba Awo Fuji.
Speaking at the event, Kwam 1 lauded the organisers for promoting the Fuji genre.
“Fuji Vibrations served as a reminder that the Fuji genre is still shaping popular culture and truly represents the best of indigenous Nigerian music,” he said.
The event marks the 50th anniversary of Kwam 1 performing on stage.
Tosin Ashafa, executive producer of Fuji: A Opera, and Bobo Omotayo, creator & founder of Fuji: A Opera, honoured the ace musician with an ‘ICON Award’ to commemorate the anniversary.
They also expressed gratitude to the music legend for his unwavering support for Fuji: A Opera since its inception.
