Chinedu Okoli, Igbo highlife singer better known as Flavour, has put out the visuals for ‘Good Woman’, a track off ‘Flavour of Africa’, his 2020 album.
The music star announced the release of the song’s video, which is dedicated to women including Felicia Okoli, his mother, on Wednesday.
The less than six-minute video starts with a beautiful rendition from Chukwupa Ike followed by footage of the singer’s mother arriving at an event venue with smiles etched on her face.
It thereafter reflects on the plights of African women using a lady who had gone out to get some basic family needs only to be chased away by her husband when she returned home.
The singer also tells the struggles of Nigerian young girls using a teenager who took to the streets to solicit alms to eke out a living.
Flavour went on to commend the heroics of prominent women including Onyeka Owenu, Ngozi Okonji-Iweala, Oby Ezekwesili, Funmi Iyanda, Ibukun Awosika, Feyikemi Abudu, Odunayo Eweniyi and Joke Silva who have continued to inspire others.
The video’s release comes at about the same time when the world is celebrating the 2021 edition of the International Women’s Day (IWD) which held on March 8.
Flavour has established himself as a household name in the country’s music landscape with strings of awards as well as recognition.
