Fireboy, Nigerian singer, has come through with the visuals for ‘Peru’ remix, featuring Ed Sheeran, Grammy award winner.
The video was released a few hours after the singer had put out the highly anticipated remix.
Fireboy had come through with the original version of the hit single back in July, attracting massive airplay in Nigeria and across the world.
In the 3-minute video, Fireboy links up with Ed Sheeran in West London.
The colourful music video sees both singers grooving to the Afrobeats sound, with vixens dancing to the immersive beat.
The song happens to be Fireboy’s first huge international collaboration. It also comes at a time when Nigerian sound and artists have been making wave in the global scene.
A week ago, the 30-year-old English songwriter had disclosed that a collaboration with the Afrobeats star for ‘Peru’ remix was in the pipeline.
“I got sent this a week ago. A friend of mine Jamal, who runs SBTV, sent it to me. He said Fireboy DML would love you on the remix of this song,” Ed Sheeran had said.
“It’s a song that’s blowing up in Nigeria and Ghana at the moment, and their club scene runs every Christmas. So, you basically put a song to the club in the middle of December, which would seem a weird thing to do in England.
“I’ve done the remix to this song but this is the original and it’s an earworm, it’s addictive and I’m obsessed with it. Cherry will tell you, I’ve had this song on repeat constantly in the house for the last week.”
