The film star, a keen supporter of President Bola Tinubu, has always received intense criticism over the current administration’s policies.

The backlash heightened recently following the ongoing economic hardship in Nigeria, with several Nigerians berating some celebrities — including Abraham — for endorsing Tinubu during the 2023 presidential elections.

On Tuesday, an X user inquired when the actress would share the president’s plans with the public. Several other users also hurled abuses at the actress; some of which she responded immediately.

In an Instagram live session, Abraham broke down in tears while vowing to take action against those trolling her family, including her four-year-old son.

“I have gotten all the comments from where I want to get them. You guys will keep saying ‘you do not owe people explanation’. You think it is easy? Every day they put up pictures of my children and be cursing my children every time. Because you guys feel I am an emotional person that I will always let things slide. This time around I will not let this slide,” she said.

“I have never cursed anyone. I have supported people. I have helped people. I have stayed on my lane. Every time you put up a picture of my family. What has my family done to you? What is Ire’s offence? What did Tèmi do? Those children do not even know anything. You curse them, bully them, do everything to them. Enough is enough. I will not take it again.

“I have kept quiet all this while. I will even go to people’s DMs. Every time you keep bringing up my child. I am 45 years old. I have only a child. You have been bullying my son since he was a baby. Do you think it is a joke? I will not accept any apology from anyone. I will not take a public apology.

“It is democracy. It is my right to vote for whoever I choose to. Aunty Iyabo, it is getting too much. You know I do not talk unless it relates to my son.

“I am saying it publicly. I never collected a dime from anybody. I did not collect one naira from anybody. I do not have such an upbringing. My late father did not teach like that.”
