During the event, Rema took to the stage to deliver a mesmerising rendition of his chart-topping track, ‘Calm Down’.

The feat makes Rema the first Afrobeats artiste to perform at the prestigious Ballon d’Or awards.

The achievement highlights the incredible success the Nigerian has achieved in 2023 and also symbolises the growing influence of Afrobeats on a global scale.

In 2022, Davido delivered an exhilarating performance at the World Cup in Qatar. Burna Boy also thrilled the audience at the 2022-23 Champions League final.

Since its release, the remix of ‘Calm Down’ — which featured Selena Gomez, the US singer — has continued to rake in massive numbers on streaming services, break records, and earn awards.
