In one of the videos, the victim is seen being slapped repeatedly by a female colleague who is then asking, “who broke my heart?”.
In another video, the victim was seen sitting next to a male classmate who is heard saying “I spoilt her relationship”.
Nigerians have since taken to the comments to condemn the development while sharing individual experiences.
One user who identifies as Tosin said in part: “I was a victim of this type of harassment. My classmate bullied me because I had a small stature in secondary school. I’d run errands for them because I was the smallest”.
A user who goes by Chibuzo stated: “Things like this happen a lot and they suppress it. You get this a lot in high-end schools where people who are too lazy to train their kids dump them there and they become a nuisance to other innocent harmless kids”.
“Funny how bullying at such an age could ruin a child’s life for life. I’ve seen bullying and I can tell it’s an emotional trauma I don’t wish on anyone.”
A user named Mohammed Auwal recommended that the parents of the victim swiftly involve the police and report the matter to the management of the school.
More videos have also surfaced involving other students being assaulted at the school.
As of the time of this report, the management of Lead British International School has yet to comment on the matter.
Located in Gwarinpa, Lead British International School was established in September 2007.
The school caters to day students from crèche to 18 years. It also has a boarding facility for students from age four and above.
