A video has gone viral wherein an Anambra-based man is seen taking pleasure in the assault of his wife in the presence of their children.
In the footage shared on Instagram by Harrison Gwamnishu, the human rights activist, the supposedly middle-aged man is filmed beating his wife while their child cried out and begged him to stop.
The video also showed the woman crying over the injury he inflicted on her.
The man, on the other hand, appeared to take malignant pleasure in his wife’s misery before leaving the room.
It is understood that the incident was reported to the Anambra state ministry of women and social welfare while the woman was admitted to New Hope Hospital in Onitsha.

In a follow-up video, the man is seen trying to placate his wife while she cries profusely.
Gwamnishu said the woman who had earlier refused to report the case has now requested a police investigation into the matter.
The activist said the case will be been reopened with the State Criminal Investigative Department (SCID) in Anambra.
“We are back on her case again for the second time as she told us she was scared yesterday and she acted the way she did because the DPO of the station forced her,” he wrote.
“I have also pleaded to our team led by Ochiedu Marvelous to go back and transfer the case to SCID for unbiased investigation.
“Please let’s forgive her and render any possible assistance as she’s traumatised.”
