The Miss Universe Nigeria organizers also shared a heartfelt message which reads: “We send our brightest wishes and unwavering support! May Nigeria’s vibrant spirit shine through you. Represent us with pride, strength, and grace. Bring home the crown!”

Miss Universe 2024 will be held in the Arena CDMX in Mexico on November 16. Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua will crown her successor at the end of the event.

She sparked controversy during this year’s Miss South Africa pageant due to her nationality, which led to a surge of criticism on social media, particularly from South Africans.

Adetshina would later withdraw from the Miss South Africa contest.

Her withdrawal came after the the department of home affairs (DHA) alleged that preliminary evidence suggested her mother may have committed fraud and identity theft.

Addressing the allegations, Chidimma said: “I didn’t steal anyone’s identity”.

She accepted the invitation to participate in this year’s Miss Universe Nigeria pageant. She was later crowned winner of the pageant.
