Tyrese Gibson, the US actor and singer, has called out Samantha Lee, his ex-wife, for allegedly seeking increased child support.
Gibson and Samantha tied the knot on Valentine’s Day in 2017. The couple welcomed Soraya Rayas, their daughter, the following year.
In 2020, the movie star announced his divorce from Samantha. He, however, did not mention what led to their separation.
In a recent video, Gibson disclosed that his ex-wife is requesting his tax returns and bank statements to assess his income.
He claimed that his recent projects, which have been largely successful, prompted Samantha to seek an increase in child support.
The 45-year-old singer said his ex-wife had initially requested $20,000 monthly child support.
He accused Samantha and her lawyers of “trying to take the monthly child support to $40,000”.
Gibson also claimed that Samantha earns almost $150,000 annually as a social media influencer.
“Are you not aware of the damage that you caused? When you treated me like that and when you left me like that,” he said.
“Can I call you and tell you about it? And if I tell you, are you going to be accountable and actually process the trauma that you caused?
“She has no way of doing that but I just got another letter from her lawyers requesting that I send over all of my tax returns and all my bank statements because she is trying to get $20k and I think I they’re trying to take it up to $40k.
“They’ve been looking at all my movies, concerts, and shows, and they’re over there like blood-sucking lawyers rubbing their hands.
“And Samantha is doing the same thing—rubbing her hands and thinking, ‘Oh, s**t! For the last year and a half, he looks like he’s been doing really well. Let’s go ahead and get those bank statements so we could figure out a way to get this law firm another $600k that they are asking for in legal fees.
“She divorced me 4 years ago in August 2020 and she makes close to $150k or $160k at this point because she is on social media. I’m out here stressed out because she divorced me.
“And they’re hoping that I’ll do more concerts, shows, and movies so that they can get to the bottom of what actual money is in my bank accounts. This is a dirty game out here.”
Before Samantha, Gibson was married to Norma Mitchell from 2007 to 2009. The union was blessed with a daughter Shayla Somer.
