Tyla: God is the secret behind my success, not Illuminati

Tyla, the South African singer and songwriter, has refuted claims of her association with the Illuminati. 

The Illuminati is believed to be a secret society that possesses hidden knowledge or exerts significant influence over world affairs.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan Magazine, the ‘Water’ singer said she is aware of rumours that she has pledged loyalty to the secret society.

The Grammy winner, whose meteoric rise has earned her global recognition, however, dismissed the rumours, adding that “God is the center of everything that we are doing”.

“People already think I’m in the Illuminati? Oh, now. I know some people think that’s the only way, but it really isn’t. God is the center of everything that we are doing, and clearly, it’s working,” she said.

“People see the music industry as evil and think you only can make it if you don’t believe in God.”

Tyla Laura Seethal was born on January 30, 2002, in Johannesburg.

In 2021, she signed with Epic Records after the success of her 2019 debut single, ‘Getting Late’ featuring Kooldrink.

In 2023,  Tyla gained global popularity for her single ‘Water’ which made the top 10 in sixteen countries including the United Kingdom and the United States.

‘Water’ was the first song by a South African soloist to enter the US Billboard Hot 100 in 55 years.

In February, the singer won her first Grammy Award in the ‘Best African Music Performance’ category for ‘Water’.
