Mr Macaroni has added his voice to the teeming reactions to the newly released report of the Lagos state judicial panel of inquiry into the Lekki tollgate shooting of last year.
The panel report, which was presented to the public on Monday, confirmed that the shooting at the toll plaza on October 20, 2020, can be likened to a “massacre.”
The report also listed names of 48 people killed or injured on the night as the country’s soldiers shot at peaceful protesters.
The findings have spurred an avalanche of reactions from concerned Nigerians, particularly the youth and celebrities like DJ Switch and Falz.
Macaroni also took to his Twitter page to air his mind on the report on Tuesday.
The comedian called out “all of you that defended this barbaric act,” adding that “day of reckoning” is here.
He also slammed “numerous gaslighting and lies” pushed by those denying that the shooting happened, saying that “truth always prevails.”
“They were always asking where the survivors and families of the victims were. So make them kill them the way dem kill others, Abi? All of you that defended this barbaric act should know that one way or the other, there will be a day of reckoning,” he tweeted.
“The same panel that the government set up has presented their findings. Except you people don’t have faith in your own Judicial system. Since last year, we have seen numerous gaslighting and lies! The truth always prevails and that truth is the #EndSARS Movement.
“Those that have been speaking the truth since 20/10/20 are still saying the same thing till this very day. Go and check the statements of Government reps or their supporters. It’s from one lie to the other. Now they are fighting themselves. Everlasting confusion for the wicked.”
Macaroni has been one of the most prominent voices in the fight against police brutality in the country.
Last month, he also led a drive-thru protest at Lekki tollgate to mark one year anniversary of the EndSARS incident.
