The trailer for the series was unveiled on Tuesday, with a premiere slated for November.

The drama delves into themes of power, ambition, and the sacrifices necessary for success through the story of Zara, a young woman whose life is turned upside down after winning the Lawson Group’s Leading Ladies reality show.

As Zara navigates the competitive business world, she finds herself at odds with the CEO, Moyosore Lawson, who is determined to undermine her.

Ajayi describes the series as a blend of modern African settings and mythical themes, likening business boardrooms to kingdoms and introducing characters reminiscent of a fantastical narrative, including a cruel king, knights, and a warrior princess.

“There is that dreamlike quality we want to convey in this modern African iteration of a universal mythical experience,” he said.

“Business boardrooms as kingdoms, the wounded cruel king, strutting knights, conniving bishops, treacherous duchesses, the village belle turned warrior princess and sometimes a touch of the village jester; all the familiar elements of a mythic tale.”

The series boasts a stellar cast, including Efa Iwara, Ireti Doyle, Femi Jacobs, Andrew Bunting, Mimi Chaka, and Norbert Young.

‘Princess on a Hill’ is produced by Chuka Ejorh and Shayo Oke-Sobo, with Bibi Ukpo as the writer.

Ajayi made his film debut with ‘Over The Bridge’, which premiered at the New York African Film Festival (NYAFF) and led this year’s Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) with 12 nominations.

Sobo, on the other hand, is known for his role as director of the TV series ‘Inspector K’. He is also the creative director at Suss Productions.
