Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Funke Akindele, and Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) are among the cast of a forthcoming Netflix series titled ‘Far From Home’.

‘Far From Home’ follows the story of Ishaya (Mike Afolarin), a teenager of humble background whose dreams appear within reach when a prestigious scholarship nudges him into the affluent world of Nigeria’s elite.

However, a huge secret threatens Ishaya’s newfound status and, ultimately, his family’s safety.

‘Far From Home’, it is understood, will be Netflix‘s first Nigerian young adult show.

The series, produced in partnership with Inkblot, has concluded principal photography.

Its producers revealed that the project is primed for a December 16 global premiere on the streamer.

Among those starring in the series are Bolanle Ninalowo, Bucci Franklin, Bimbo Akintola, Linda Ejiofor, Chioma Akpotha, Femi Branch, Carol King, and Ufuoma Mcdermott.

Others are Mike Afolarin, Elma Mbadiwe, Genoveva Umeh, Gbubemi Ejeye, Olumide Oworu, and Natse Jemide.

On the forthcoming release, Chinaza Onuzo, the founder of Inkblot Productions, said: “We’re excited to be partnering with Netflix to create this special show on a global scale for and about young Nigerians.

‘Far From Home’ is scripted by Dami Elebe, with Onuzo, Erika Klopper, Zulumoke Oyibo, and Damola Ademola as its executive producers.
