Tonto Dikeh, the actress and deputy governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers state, has expressed optimism that her party will win the gubernatorial election.
In a post via her Instagram page, the actress, who cast her vote in Rivers, said she experienced a smooth voting process because of the effectiveness of the bimodal voter accreditation system (BVAS).
Dikeh added that she is positive about her win in the election, adding that “we shall all have course to smile”.
“I have cast my vote in home town Rumuokwuta in Obior Akpor LGA of Rivers State,” she said.
“Accreditation and voting was done simultaneously, BVAS worked effectively which made voting smooth for now.
“I Am Very optimistic that we shall all have course to smile, the victory shall be for Rivers State not an individual.”

The actress also called for more involvement of the youth in politics.
“The youth should get actively involved in democratic engagement for future experience,” she wrote.
In 2020, the film star opened up about her political ambition. She also said she was watching the grounds for the senate.
In June 2022, the actress was picked as the running mate to Tonte Ibraye, the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers state.
