Toke Makinwa, Nigerian radio-TV personality and entrepreneur, says no one should tell others how to heal from hurtful experiences they themselves have not been through.

The statement, made in a post through her Instagram account, is coming after a flurry of condemnatory opinions that trailed Tonto Dikeh’s outrage directed at her ex-husband with respect to the duo’s controversial breakup.

“We are all tested differently, broken differently, our scars fade differently and we heal differently. Everyone should be allowed to grieve how they want, when they want and however long they want to,” she wrote.

“Stop giving expiry dates to the pain you did not endure. If you cannot be kind, say nothing. It’s ok to be quiet, try it sometime, you won’t die. You don’t have to understand everyone’s journey or life’s choices but it’s your duty to respect it.

“Life visits us all at the end of the day and while you play judge let’s hope when it’s your turn, you remain standing to handle it half as strong or as perfect as you try to claim be.”

Having leveled outrageous allegations of internet fraud and ritualism against her ex-husband in a three-part emotion-laden video, Tonto Dikeh was not only backlashed by Nollywood fans but by fellow actors/actresses as well.

While many have advised the actress to move on, Funke Adesiyan, shared a post on her Instagram account which sounded like she was shading the embattled actress.

“Some partners are toxic. Their toxicity will destroy you, your core and existence. May God not let us fall victims of ‘oloriburuku’ partners,” Adesiyan wrote.

“Funke please say this to me when you see me. Keep this same energy too! I will break your mouth I promise. Don’t sub me if you ain’t bold enough to tag me!” Tonto fired back at Adesiyan.

Responding to IK Ogbonna who advised her to think of her son while attempting to “break the internet”, Tonto Dikeh replied:
