Some of the stakeholders on the show include Kafilat Ogbara, the lawmaker representing Kosofe federal constituency,  Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi, the mandate secretary for women at the federal capital territory, and Liyel Imoke, former governor of Cross-River state.

Speaking at the unveiling event on Friday, Abosede George-Ogan, the executive director of WILAN Global, said this new series will engage stakeholders on inclusive policy for women.

George-Ogan said the show is about advocacy for equity and changing the narrative that women cannot hold leadership positions.

She decried the low number of women at the national assembly, saying “It is a systemic problem”.

“In the history of Africa, we had female kings. They were not called queens. There is a lot that is not told about the stories of women,” she said.

“But I wanted to provide this background because there is a lot that is being done in the design thinking of what has become The Leading Woman show.

“Every time you say the leading woman show, you are affirming that women’s leadership could become normal.

“The leading woman show presents an opportunity to have those conversations. We have testimonials of people who said they watched the show and until that time they believed women should be leading.

“Abuja is a hub for both public sector and development professionals. So we had a good mix of those people. We were delighted with the diversity of guests that we got. It validated why Abuja was a choice.”
