Obviously offended by the remark, Tems fired back at the critic, saying, “your own voice no sweet, you’re mad”.
The singer went on to laugh out loud during the live chat.
In June, she postponed her shows in the United Kingdom (UK) after being diagnosed with reflux laryngitis.
Reflux laryngitis is a voice disorder that results from irritation and swelling of the vocal folds due to the backflow of stomach fluids into the throat.
The 26-year-old vocalist has been enjoying massive reception from music lovers since she dropped ‘Try Me’ in August 2019.
Tems thereafter gained international prominence after featuring in ‘Essence’, a collaborative song with Wizkid.
She became the first African singer to debut on Billboard Hot 100 after featuring in ‘Wait For U,’ a song by US rapper Future, in May.
The singer had previously debuted on the Hot 100 chart with ‘Fountain’ by Drake and ‘Essence’ by Wizkid.
Tems recently featured in the soundtrack of the ‘Black Panther 2′ trailer.
In July, she got her first solo entry on the Billboard Hot 100 with ‘Free Mind’, her 2020 single.
