On Thursday, young Nigerians commenced a nationwide protest against economic hardship and soaring inflation in various parts of the country.

In a post on X, Tems announced her decision to delay the release to show solidarity with the protesters.

She also prayed for the safety of those participating in the protest and hoped their voices would be heard.

“Out of respect for the on going protest at home🇳🇬, I have decided to postpone the release of Burning music video. Praying for the safety of those outside at this time. May the voice of the people be heard🕊️💖,” she wrote

‘Burning’ is a track off Tems’ debut album ‘Born In The Wild’. It was released on May 31.

Tems, born Temilade Openiyi, started to gain popularity in 2020, courtesy of her collaboration with Wizkid on the song ‘Essence’.
