Ngozi Okobi-Oke, the Super Falcon midfielder, and her husband have welcomed their first child together.

The football star who plays for Spanish club Levante Las Planas took to her Instagram page on Tuesday to announce the bundle of joy’s arrival.

Okobi expressed joy in becoming a mother while disclosing the newborn was delivered in Canada.

“Congratulations to me. #God be praised. #I am a mother. #New mom # Canadian baby,” she wrote.

However, the child’s name, gender, and date of birth were not disclosed.

Okobi tied the knot with Ahmed Okeoghene, who is a real estate agent, in December 2017.

The midfielder started her career at Delta Queens, the football club in her hometown.

In 2015, she became the third Nigerian to move to the National Women’s Soccer League club behind attacker, Francisca Ordega after a deal with Washington Spirit.

Okobi has represented the Nigerian female team several times. She played at the 2010 U-17 Women’s World Cup, the 2010 WAFCON and the 2012 FIFA U-20 World Cup, and the 2014, 2016 2018, and 2022 WAFCON tournaments.

She was involved in the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

However, she was excluded from the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup players by Randy Waldrum.

Since then, she has not returned to the national team.
