The name Hilda Baci sprung into the consciousness of Nigerians in May 2023. She was on track to set a record for the longest cooking marathon, and the nation rooted for her. Before the stardom, only a handful of social media netizens who followed the food subculture on Instagram knew about her infectious smiles and insatiable love for cooking.
Through her careful planning and the immense support of the country, Baci pulled through and broke the record set by Lata Tondon, an Indian chef. According to the Guinness World Records (GWR), Baci cooked ceaselessly for 93 hours and 11 minutes. It was a feat that looked incredulous, except she did it before the eyes of multiple Nigerians cheering on.
Baci also raked in a cornucopia of accolades, endorsement deals, social media fame, and, importantly, influence. Shortly, her success inspired a crazed wave of Nigerians attempting licks at the numerous records recognised by GWR. The trend held sway across sectors and from the practicable to the borderline ridiculous.
But Baci’s influence did not end at the GWR fad. Her exquisite fashion sense was another pull. The 27-year-old came prepared for the alluring glitz and glamour of showbiz.
Her taste for sophisticated, delicately designed dresses heightens her joie de vivre outlook. Baci slays whatever outfit is lucky enough to wrap around her well-trained body.
