Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, the longtime disc jockey (DJ) on Ellen DeGeneres‘ talk show, has passed away at the age of 40.
DeGeneres announced his death in a touching tribute via her Twitter page on Wednesday.
Boss started working as DJ on the Ellen DeGeneres show in 2014 and was featured in various capacities until the popular show ended in May 2022 after its 19th episode.
In 2020, he became executive producer of the show — which is a daily mix of comedy, interviews, and human interest stories.
In the Twitter post, the comedian and media personality said she is “heartbroken” by the DJ’s demise.
“I’m heartbroken. tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him. Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children – Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia,” she wrote.

DeGeneres did not disclose the circumstances surrounding the death of the choreographer.
But according to TMZ, Boss’ death appears to be a case of suicide.
The media outlet, quoting security sources, said Allison Holker, his wife, ran to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) on Tuesday and was visibly disturbed.
Holker was said to have complained that Boss left home without his car, an action she described as unusual.
