Kelly Anthony, the Canadian-based Nigerian singer, has announced plans to empower five students by sponsoring their first year at the University of Benin (UNIBEN).
In a recent statement, the fast-rising artiste disclosed that he chose to sponsor students of UNIBEN because Benin City is his hometown and place of birth.
“I decided to embark on this project by sponsoring 5 students in the University of Benin because Benin city is my home town and my place of birth,” he said.
“I truly admire my people with all my heart and I want nothing but the best for my youth of the community.
“I believe in them truly and I want nothing for a brighter future filled with lots of opportunities for them all.”
The singer assured that the Kelly Anthony Foundation will cater to the upkeep of the five lucky students for the first year at UNIBEN.

Kelly also emphasised the importance of empowering the youth.
“As an artist, this means the world to me. Giving the youth a chance to a better future means a lot to me. I believe in the youths of Nigeria,” he said.
“I know with full guidance and support for them they will succeed and that is what I stand for.”
To be eligible for the sponsorship, students must have registered for this year’s JAMB exams and passed the entrance exams into UNIBEN for any course. Interested students can send a direct message to @kellyanthonyfoundation with their details.
Kelly was born on May 5, 1989, in Benin City, Edo state, to Gabriel and Kate Osifo. He attended Nightygate Primary School, UNIBEN Staff School.
