Shan George, the actress, says her “life savings of ₦3.6 million” were stolen from her bank account.
The filmmaker took to Instagram on Friday to share screenshots of the transaction details showing the fraudulent activity.
In an accompanying post, George lamented her current financial predicament, expressing concern for her children’s welfare.
The 54-year-old filmmaker pleaded with bank authorities to reverse the money, adding that she did not authorise the transaction.
“Cecilia Okoro is the name of the person that has just wiped all the money in my account, N3.6 million into an OPay account,” she said.
“I’m begging everyone to help me. Please Zenith Bank, OPay, MTN please help. I don’t have any Kobo anywhere again. What do I eat?
“I’m begging all the authorities that can help. It just happened today 3rd of May. Please help me reverse the money.
“That is everything that I have in my whole life. I don’t have food in my house to eat. Please reverse the money, I did not authorise it.”
George was born to a Nigerian mother and a British father in Ediba, Cross River state.
The actress graduated from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) where she studied Mass Communication.
She had featured in films such as ‘Thorns of Rose’, ‘Winds Of Destiny’, ‘OutKast’ and ‘Welcome to Nollywood’, among others.
