Shade Ladipo, the media personality, has apologised to Tiwa Savage for criticising the singer when her sex tape leaked in 2021.

In an Instagram video shared on Tuesday, Ladipo admitted she was among those who “blasted” the singer after the intimate video surfaced online.

“I was one of the people who blasted Tiwa Savage when that sex tape came out. I’ll be honest. I blamed her,” she said.

“I was like, you know what? How can you be over 40? Cause we are mates, and you’re still messing around with people like this. In hindsight, I wonder why I was blaming her so hard for something that happened to her.”

Ladipo said listening to Savage’s recently released album ‘This One is Personal’ made her connect with the singer’s vulnerability and struggles.

“I felt her pain. And I just want to say Tiwa I love you. I’m sorry,” she added.

In October 2021, a video of an intimate moment between Savage and her lover surfaced online.

Savage disclosed she was being blackmailed over a sex tape involving her and her partner.

She explained that her partner mistakenly uploaded the clip on Snapchat before deleting it, but someone had already saved and threatened to circulate the footage.

The incident drew widespread reactions from fans, critics, and fellow celebrities. While many stood in solidarity with Savage, others condemned her at the time.

Savage, however, maintained that she would not give in to blackmail for doing “something natural”.

Last month, the 45-year-old ‘Stamina’ hitmaker described the incident as the lowest point in her career.

She said despite the emotional turmoil, she refused to step away from music but used it as a coping mechanism.
