The filmmaker was remanded in prison on February 10, 2017, after being accused of obtaining money by pretense from about 40 Bureau De Change operators.

The police charged him with fraud involving $90,000, £12,550, and ₦39,098,100.

The court granted him N5 million bail but he could not meet the conditions and remained in custody.

After five years and eight months behind bars, he was finally acquitted in 2022.

Egbegbe, in a recent chat with Biola Adebayo, the actress, revealed he has engaged in “several bad things except killing”.

The producer recalled his sex life, stating he could sleep with up to three women in a day due to his financial capability.

Egbegbe attributed his past actions to a desire to “live large” and “show off,” saying, “I did all those bad things then just to live large, no particular reason. I just wanted to show off, be the talk of the town”.

“At some point, which will never happen again, the lady I have sex with in the morning will be different from the one I have sex with in the afternoon,” he said.

“Any lady who sleeps with me overnight will be someone I have a close relationship with. All because I had the financial capacity.

Egbegbe expressed gratitude for his life, stating, “I was away for almost six years, I could not have sex and I did not die. Since I was released, several ladies have shown their admiration for me on social media without considering what I have done”.

“I think it is just love, I’m always loved by people. During my trying time, people who I never helped stood by me. I feel God taught me a lesson with my imprisonment,” he said.

“Without having sex with different girls for almost six years, I didn’t die, nothing happened to me. But I thank God for my life. Sometimes ago, I could have sex with three ladies a day.”

Egbegbe also recently recounted his near-death experience in jail.
