The governor took to his social media pages on Wednesday to pen a romantic message to his wife. He described her as “rare gem,” while commending her contributions to the family and the society.

“Like a tree planted by water, Ibijoke mi continues to bring forth fruit and blossom. She is a rare gem, passionate about her family, society and the world. Thank you for all you are to me, our family and our state. Happy birthday my dearest,” he wrote on Twitter.

Born on January 8, 1967, Ibijoke served in several capacities in the state before she became the first lady in 2019, following the victory of her husband at the governorship poll.

Her 25 years of active service saw her rose through the ranks to become the chief medical director and chief executive officer of Harvey Road Comprehensive Health Centre, Yaba; and later General Hospital, Somolu.

She is a graduate of University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, where she obtained her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S).
