A proposal by a South African man to his fiancee in a Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) branch in the country has set social media abuzz and gotten a lot of people talking.
Bhut’ Hector went on one knee to propose to Nonhlanhla, “the love of his life”, and as she said yes, bystanders gushed and captured the moment with their mobile phones — as he put the ring on her finger.
Kateka Malobola, one of the observers, who captured the incident on video, took to his Twitter page to share the beautiful moment.
KFC thereafter got wind of the footage and on Thursday took to its handle to share the video clip and asked people to help find the couple.
“Mzansi please help us find this beautiful couple, re batla ho ba blesser. DM us any leads, there might be a Finger Lickin’ Good surprise in it for you too. Batho ba Vaal re thuseng! We love love,” it wrote.
“Shout out to @Kmalobola for capturing this beautiful moment and sharing it with us. Danki san”.

Eish I hope they allow #KFCProposal couple to have their wedding their way.
Let #KFCWedding not be a celebrity spectacle where this couple’s families & friends are sidelined bcs there’s now VIP prioritization.
Celebs stay away. Donate and let the day be about the couple 😇

Guys,
I know it’s low-key Twitter culture to look for something negative in even the most beautiful, purest moments and situations.
But please, can we just be happy for this couple without searching for what could be bad about this.
Let’s just be happy. #KFCProposal

If every single sponsor comes on board, Hector and Nonhlanhla can have the traditional wedding AND the white wedding of their dreams #KFCProposal

Weddings are so expensive, what is happening right now with #KFCProposal is one of the biggest gifts you can give to two people. I hope everything comes together and everyone keeps their generous promises to the couple because this is beautiful 😭
