The sentence, it is understood, is without the option of a fine.

The actress was arraigned before the court at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport on Monday on charges of defaming Isa, who happens to be her ex-boyfriend.

Haruna had, in a viral video, accused Isa of being “a homosexual, a bastard, and an unrepentant womaniser”.

She alleged that the actor demanded anal sex from her in the viral Instagram post.

The film star had earlier been arrested by the Kano state Hisbah board for allegedly sharing sexual content on her social media pages.

In his verdict, Muntari Dandago, the presiding judge, said he found the actress guilty on all counts against her.

The judge further ruled that in case Haruna continued to defame Isa, she would be sentenced to three years.

According to him, the actress had up to three months to appeal the judgment.

TheCable Lifestyle had earlier reported how Jaruma, a sex therapist, was detained in Abuja for allegedly defaming Ned Nwoko, the businessman.

The controversial social media figure was later granted bail ahead of her trial in the case.
