Ric Hassani, Nigerian singer, has announced the demise of his father — a few hours after putting out ‘The Prince I Became’, his new album.
The musician cum songwriter broke the sad news in a series of tweets on Friday, adding that he died a week ago.
He, however, did not disclose the circumstances that led to his father’s death.
In one of the posts, the singer described the deceased as a very good person who taught him so many things.
“A week ago today, I lost my Dad. He was a great man, a very good person. I learnt so much from him, and he is my angel now. Rest in peace daddy, ‘K.K’ loves you,” he wrote.

In another post, he also commended his late father’s contribution to ‘Korede’, a track off the newly-released album.
“People like your song Dad, I knew your vocals on it will be good. Wish you were here, just one more week. But God knows best,” he added.

The 32-year-old singer has continued to pull the strings in the country’s music industry since he released ‘The African Gentleman’, his debut studio project, in 2016
