The Nigerian Twittersphere has been set abuzz following the arrest and detention of Clarence Peters, a video director, by the Lagos state police command, over the death of Picture Kodak, a video vixen.
Bala Elkana, the command’s spokesman, who confirmed Peters’ detention to TheCable Lifestyle on Sunday, said he is currently undergoing interrogation over Kodak’s death.
“Yes (Peters) is in our custody. He is invited for questioning and investigation is ongoing,” Elkana had said.
The gifted choreographer died on Wednesday while reportedly trying to receive a call on her mobile phone while it was charging.
Peters’ detention has however opened the floodgate of reactions on social media platforms especially Twitter as users have since registered their differing opinions.
“Clarence Peters being investigated for murder, I think it’s wrong for the police to declare the case a murder case when the autopsy is not out yet. In a way, they have tampered with this man reputation, even if he comes out innocent some ppl still won’t believe it, na Naija we Dey,” a Twitter user said.
“Clarence Peters arrested over Kodak’s death. I now know the importance of this prayer my mum always says that may our visitor not die in our house,” another user said.
Here is what some Nigerians had to say:
Clarence Peters is the prime suspect for Kodak's death and he is currently being interrogated by the police…. Do you know what that means?? 😤
Autopsy and God are the only things in this life that can clear Clarence's name, if he's innocent. God no go shame us 🤲

It's good they're investigating Clarence Peters. When I heard Kodak died was electrocuted WHILE CHARGING you know how much meaning it made to me? ZERO! As a trained electrician the possibility of being electrocuted while charging is EXTREMELY REMOTE.

This Clarence Peters situation is why having anyone sleep over at your place (babe or not) is pure risk tbh.
Even worse for you when you don’t have money or a name.

Clarence Peters arrest is only normal, as the family of kodak can't just take the untimely death of their child lightly. Tho they aren't pointing fingers, so put them in your rational mind when trying to condemn the areest.
May our visitors not die in our houses 🙏— Mazi Chuks "30Billion" OT🐐 (@oti_pr) May 3, 2020

Murder case no be small case ooo pic.twitter.com/MG7qXJrPaT— Major T (@MajorTmusic) May 3, 2020
Inviting Clarence Peters for questioning isn’t even the problem here but, charging him for murder before thorough investigation is demeaning.

In as much as theres account of how it all went down and pointing out the ineptitude of the hospitals.
I want to condemn the management of the studio too.
Clarence Peters should know Better

Why tf has Clarence Peters not said anything yet?? No official statement, nothing! He should be arrested and charged to court regardless of the situation. Shooting a music video or whatever in the lockdown.

If someone died of electrocution, are you saying that someone can carry the person and put inside electric by his own hand? Nigerian police need to do better on this Clarence Peters case

You mean Clarence Peters killed Kodak in his own house. Do you guys reason with your anus???
— PRINCE🔴 (@_iamjadon) May 3, 2020
I think Clarence Peters was invited for interrogation not arrested. Using the right word is a problem out here.

Clarence Peters detention is a part of standard investigation procedures. He is a person of interest and needs to be questioned, it doesn't in anyway imply he is guilty of any crime at least just yet.
An autopsy is the only way to verify if Kodak was indeed murdered.— ESAMA OF LAGOS (@Son_of_Gabriel) May 3, 2020
The only reason Clarence Peters might not have been detained is that he’s a celeb.
If you know the SOP of Naija police, you go know say him go answer questions…perhaps till they find a real clue.
He’s also lucky as he may not be tortured, an ordinary citizen go hear uwhen!— Hamid Adediran (@medicaster01) May 3, 2020
