Florence Otedola, Nigerian disc jockey and singer, better known as DJ Cuppy, has given cause for worry amongst social media users after she broke down in tears during an Instagram live video session.
The 26-year-old Afrobeats vocalist and daughter of Femi Otedola, billionaire business mogul, who went live on Wednesday, suddenly started shedding tears and abruptly ended the session.
While it remains unclear the reason for the unusual emotional state, fans and critics have since taken to social media platforms, especially Twitter, to register their opinions on the incident.
“DJ Cuppy needs a boyfriend simple,” said a Twitter user.
“Dj Cuppy went live to cry. You should know it’s a serious thing. Y’all are just rude,” another user said.
“DJ Cuppy crying might just be a way of her telling us about her new single. You guys should relax first till she tells us the story behind the tears,” a Twitter user suggested.

There is a limit we reach where we no longer form to be happy as we show on social media.
DJ Cuppy probably reached that limit yesterday. She is obviously not the best Singer around but History will remember that she Sang.
That's history, not your opinion is what's important.

Or better still DJ Cuppy should be doing like the likes of DJ Khaled OR Larry Gagga..
*Call some artists together and be shouting at the background
*Drop some mad lines as the song is about to start
*Just be showing off in the background and spraying moneyJUST DON'T SING 😑

DJ Cuppy is trending because she cried… Father when? How many cry I don cry for this year wey even my neighbours no greet me. 😂😂
— Sean Peezy (@Clairvoyant_) September 5, 2019
DJ Cuppy's only crime is that her Father is rich…. She works very hard ,always happy, unlike other rich kids, she is always hustling to make a name for herself … Poverty mentality has dried you people's happiness, that you don't want others to be happy

Dj cuppy is not the reason some of our parents are not wealthy, stop the unnecessary bully and hate always directed at her.. Dis nur make any sense

You want to be rich but hate the rich. How you gon' be what you hate? Thought you don't like what you hate?
Please leave rich kids alone, hustle & make your own kids be like them.
Those unnecessary trolls targeted at DJ Cuppy are senseless. She did nothing wrong to you.

DJ Cuppy cried live on IG? I feel for her, she's such a happy person. But what I don't get is why people go live to cry, like you can't call someone and explain, but you'd rather cry for the whole world to see. Social media is not a counseling group, they'll roast you. U dunno…

DJ cuppy did a video of her crying and people are out here saying it’s because of Twitter bants and dragging
Alaye shut up!
You think your 280 words will make her shed tears after all these while on Twitter?
What if she went emotional because of the happenings in Africa?— Trouble Maker 😒(G.O). (@ObongRoviel) September 5, 2019
DJ Cuppy's crime is that her father is rich and she is determined to ALWAYS do the things that make her happy.
Takes an alarmingly high level of bitterness and emptiness to harbour such emotions about someone who just wants to be happy

DJ Cuppy is a very positive person. She never lets hateful comments or trolls make her bitter. She is always nice to people, and she is super friendly to her followers. She even calls them when they ask her to. It's sad to see her break down in tears in that video.
