Priscilla Ojo has addressed rumours that the store belonging to her Tanzanian husband Juma Jux was burnt during the recent protests in his country.

The unrest erupted on Thursday after citizens took to the streets to demonstrate against alleged irregularities in the previous day’s presidential vote.

The tension was fuelled by the exclusion of President Samia Hassan’s two main challengers from the race — a decision that has drawn criticism from citizens and rights groups alike.

The groups have long accused Hassan’s administration of intensifying a crackdown on opposition figures, activists, and journalists.

During the chaos, a claim made by an X user named Bolaji Fesomade gained traction online.

Fesomade alleged that a store belonging to the singer Jux, “valued at a staggering $780 million,” had been completely destroyed by fire set by protesters.

“Reports from Tanzania say singer Juma Jux’s store, worth over $780 million has been set ablaze and completely destroyed by protesters. The violence erupted after yesterday’s tense presidential election which sparked chaos and unrest across several parts of the country,” he wrote.

However, Priscilla took to her Snapchat account to dismiss the claims. The wife of the popular singer confirmed that the store was indeed targeted but clarified the nature of the incident, writing: “Looted ✅ Burnt❎”.

Priscilla did not disclose the extent of the damage or the value of the items taken. As of now, Jux has not made a public statement addressing the incident.

Priscilla and Jux went public with their relationship in July 2024 after sharing loved-up posts on social media.
