In an interview with HipTV, the 56-year-old said “a lot of our leaders have messed up.”

The stand-up comedian also said the youth should be ready to bring about meaningful change in the country.

Abi Baba called on youths to get their permanent voters cards (PVCs) and be ready to vote in 2023 considering their large population.

The comedian said the youth must realise the “responsibilities on their shoulders” if they want to inspire the “generational change” expected of them.

“They (the youths) need to be politically aware, have voter’s education, and then decide who to vote for. We are hoping for a generational change but we can’t get that if the youths are not aware of the responsibilities they have on their shoulders,” he said.

“Quite a lot of our leaders have messed up but we believe that the future would be changed by these youths. So, we need them to go and get their PVCs and begin to prepare to vote in 2023. They have the numbers, therefore there’s no reason why they should not galvanise that for change.”
