Testimony Jaga, the gospel artiste, has recounted his encounter with controversial singer Portable in Ogun state, describing him as “possessed with demons”.
The incident occurred last September when Portable assaulted a preacher at his bar in Ogun state, sparking widespread criticism. Jaga joined in the online backlash, giving Portable a three-day ultimatum to apologize to the preacher.
When the ultimatum expired, Jaga and his music team visited Portable’s bar, where a dramatic scene unfolded.
Portable was seen kneeling and weeping profusely as he apologized for his actions. The crowd around him chanted, “God is the king. Jesus is here”.
However, in an interview on Honest Bunch podcast, Testimony said he believes that Portable’s apology was insincere.
He claimed that he experienced “demonic manifestation” from Portable during their encounter.
Jaga alleged that Portable has been restless since their meeting, claiming that the singer’s reliance on “juju” (traditional charms) is “fake”.
“The juju Portable has been looking for is all fake. Since that day, we went to Portable’s place and he confessed to Jesus, later he started abusing us, and he has not rested. The day we left there, we had not even returned home when he had collected his life back from Jesus,” he said.
“He is demonic. When I held him, the demon in him started manifesting.
“Guess what, the bike people were telling us to kill him. He has so much terrorised the people there. They said if they carry passengers to the Odogwu bar, they will not be paid, rather they would be slapped,” he added.
“The king said he is a money-miss-road. He said he wondered why God blessed such a person.
“Everything he is shouting for in that area is not up to N7 million if you sell it. I was there. That area is where my animals stay. I rear goats very close to his house.”
