Karlsson, known for her maximalist, hand-crafted sunglasses, immersed herself in Lagos’ cultural and artistic scene throughout her stay. She further embraced the Yoruba heritage by appearing in traditional attire during her visit.

Her stops included the Onalaja and Lisa Folawiyo stores, where she experienced contemporary African fashion through the lens of culture and heritage.

It concluded with a glamorous soirée held in her honour and well attended by socialites, tastemakers and lovers of Anna-Karin eyewear at Delborough Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.

“Our clients love her brand because Anna-Karin creates desirable pieces. The plan is to dress Nollywood stars in Anna-Karin Karlsson sunglasses, while the vision is always to put Nigeria on the map globally. We have brought that European fanciness with Nigerian flavour,” she said.

“Partnerships like these put us on the map. For the past three months, we have had events solidifying our position as the number-one luxury retailer in the market.”

Reflecting on her experience in Nigeria, Karlsson described her time in Lagos as “profoundly inspiring”, adding that she was touched to see people wearing her pieces.

“My time in Lagos has been profoundly inspiring. The cultural energy, the creativity, and the warmth I’ve encountered have touched me deeply. Meeting the artisans, creative minds, and the remarkable women who wear my pieces reminded me why storytelling and emotion are at the heart of my work,” she added.

“I am grateful to Polo Avenue for curating such a beautiful experience and for representing my brand in Nigeria.”
