Damilola Chef Dami Adeparusi has been released on bail after she turned herself in to the police in Ondo for interrogation.
Dami, who became a viral sensation after she completed a 120-hour cooking marathon in June, was invited by the police following a petition filed against her by Adegoke Jeremiah, the founder of Spirit World Global Mission in Ekiti.
In October, the cook claimed she received several threats from Jeremiah, alleging that her life was in danger.
She also asked the public to hold her pastor responsible if anything should happen to her.
Reacting to Dami’s claim through his legal representatives, Jeremiah demanded a retraction of the statement on social media and two widely read national dailies.
He also requested the payment of a sum of N20 million for damages.
But according to BBC, Dami was recently invited by the police for interrogations over the petition.
The chef was reportedly released on the same day she honoured the police invitation.
Adeoye Adeola, the police spokesperson in charge of Zone 17 in Akure, also denied claims that Chef Dami was arrested.
“We did not arrest her, we invited her and released her after she finished. It was that same yesterday we released her on bail from our office. She turned herself into our office because of the invitation, and we released her,” Adeoye said.
