The United States law enforcement agents have reportedly found cocaine and guns in a private jet, with Lil Wayne, US rapper, on board.
According to Miami Herald, the 37-year-old award-winning singer had arrived in his private jet at a Miami airport from Chicago, where it was searched by authorities who got a tip-off about drugs possibly being transported.
Miami-Dade police had reportedly received a tip about weapons and marijuana possibly being transported on the plane, which was then searched at Miami-Opa locka executive airport on Monday evening.
All of the passengers, including Wayne, had to wait at the airport until the federal investigation of the private aircraft — a Gulfstream G-V capable of accommodating up to 14 passengers and crew — was completed.
Howard Srebnick, Miami defense attorney, disclosed that federal investigators “cleared” his client to leave the scene later that evening and no immediate charges have been filed.
TMZ also reported that Wayne’s lawyers rushed to the scene after the rapper contacted them from the tarmac.
It is believed that if Wayne or any of his crew member is charged by the US attorney’s office, they could spend Christmas in federal custody since the federal courts will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day respectively.
