Najib Aminu Waziri, the son of Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Sokoto state governor, has tied the knot with Amina Umar Tafida, the daughter of Senator Umar Tafida, Tafidan Argungu.
The ceremony, which held in Argungu, Kebbi state, was attended by both family members and prominent political associates.
Among those who were present are Maigari Dingyadi, the minister of police affairs, who represented President Muhammadu Buhari, as well as Abubakar Malami, the attorney general of the federation and minister of justice; and Governor Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi state.
Others are Bala Mohammed, Bauchi state governor; Garba Shehu, Buhari’s senior special assistant on media and publicity; Musa Haro, a special assistant in the presidency, and Abdullahi Bala Lau, an Islamic scholar.
Speaking on the event, Garba took to his Twitter page to write: ” President Muhammadu Buhari Saturday honoured the invitation to the wedding events for Najib Aminu Waziri, the son of Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.”
Garba said Buhari advised the new couple to commit their relationship to God and treat each other with respect.
“I urge you to be loyal and committed, never to give up on one another,” Garba quoted the president as saying.
