‘Sidi Ilujinle’, a film adaptation of Wole Soyinka’s ‘The Lion And The Jewel’, was recently screened at the June 12 Cultural Center, Abeokuta, Ogun state.
The premiere event of the movie, produced by ace filmmaker Tunde Kelani, saw an array of attendees present to grace the occasion.
They include Olu Jacobs, Joke Silva, Adedayo Thomas, executive director, National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) and Adebayo Salami, veteran Yoruba actor better known as Oga Bello.
Addressing journalists after the viewing, Oga Bello who was cast as Baale Baruka in the movie, commended Thomas for showing up to support the screening of the flick.
He said: “His being here today speaks well of not just him but most importantly the board (NFVCB) that governs the film industry.
“A lot is going on in the industry now and one of them is the much-awaited storm blowing against perpetrators of unlicensed and uncensored films and videos in unlicensed premises and the ED brewed up that much-needed storm.”
