Zahra, the daughter-in-law of President Muhammadu Buhari, has graduated from Brighton University in the United Kingdom.
Aisha Buhari, the first lady, took to her Facebook page to share photos from the graduation ceremony on Tuesday.
The first lady said Zahra graduated with first-class honours in Architectural Science.
“Congratulations to Mrs. Zahra B Buhari on your graduation with First Class Honors in Architectural Science. Wishing you all the best!” she wrote.
Zahra is the daughter of Nasiru Ado Bayero, Emir of Bichi, and the wife of Yusuf, Buhari’s son.
The couple tied the knot on August 20, 2021, in Kano state.
The lovebirds were said to have met each other in the United Kingdom where the president’s son finished his undergraduate studies.
Her graduation comes as public universities in Nigeria have been shut down in a strike that is now in its seventh month.
The strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is the 16th of its kind in the last 23 years.
It is hinged on demands for a salary increase, calls to set aside more funding for Nigeria’s public universities, and the union’s rejection of the government’s payroll software.
