Aisha Halilu, the niece of Aisha Buhari, wife of the president of Nigeria, has gotten married to Kamal Abdallah.
The first lady took to her Instagram page on Monday to celebrate the two lovebirds.
Aisha shared pictures from the event, which appeared to have taken place on Sunday in Aso Villa, Abuja.
In the pictures, Muhammadu Buhari can be seen posing in his customary white attire with Halilu and a member of her family.
Those who attended the event include Babagana Kingibe, the former minister of foreign affairs, and Bala Muhammed, Bauchi state governor.
The first lady, in the post, also prayed for the couple to have “everlasting love and peace in their matrimonial home.”
“Today my niece Aisha MOH’D Halilu married to MOH’D Kamal Abdallah from Bauchi State. The delegation led by Ambassador Babagana Kingibe and H E Bala MOH’D Gov of Bauchi state” she wrote.

The first lady, in her 2021 biography titled ‘Aisha Buhari: Being Different’, opened up on how she got married to Buhari as a teenager.
“In 1989, the young lady, Aisha Halilu, got married to Muhammadu Buhari, a retired Major General and former military Head of State of Nigeria…Aisha, like any other girl-child married as a teenager, faced the challenges of adapting to womanhood,” it read.
“She married the kind of man any woman would want to associate herself with, a highly placed and responsible man….Married at an early age, for her, the future seemed unsure.”
