Regardless of what the story behind the concept may be, the decision to leave Patoranking and Wizkid out of a song featuring both of them is a creative decision only brave, artistic video directors can take.

After waiting so long for visuals to a collaboration between Nigeria’s prince of afrobeats and the young champion of dancehall and afro-reggae, fans were understandably disappointed that neither made an appearance.

Visuals of lush lifestyle and beautifully endowed girls with butt cheeks hanging out are what most music fans have come to expect in music videos.

The initial disappointment is therefore allowed.

What they(fans) got instead is a video that addresses a cause and pulls its artistic weight.

Built around six characters, the video features two actors who play Wizkid and Patoranking, as well as two couples who have one thing in common: domestic abuse.

Clarence Peters lends his voice to the fray of those championing a curb of the scourge as he tells a story of violence and reverse-violence in two relationships.

Both did, however, end in reconciliation — but the message therein is apparent.

The actors who played Wizkid and Patoranking have apparently studied the nuances, body languages, gesticulations and dramatics of both artistes.

They both nailed it to the letter.

With clean and crisp visuals as well as a remarkable choreography, ‘This Kind Love’ may be vying for many plaques during awards season.

While the director may chalk it up to creative license, fans would be quick to point out that the actor who played Wizkid didn’t exactly paint a picture of the Starboy. His acting — and that of all the actors — did, however, make the casting lapse almost forgettable

And did anyone notice the epicness of the Rastafarian instrumentalists?

Dope.
