The management of the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH) in Igboora has postponed the ongoing first-semester examination for the 2019/2020 academic session till November 9.
Opeyemi Olawore, the institution’s public relations officer (PRO), announced the postponement in a statement on Thursday in Ibadan.
“According to a memorandum signed by Paul Oyediran, the acting Registrar, the two-week postponement was necessitated by the current situation in the country,” she said.
Olawore also urged students, who had complaints, to use the opportunity of the postponement to visit the academic affairs office for necessary support and assistance.
She quoted the management as urging the students to remain calm and law-abiding, with members of staff directed to remain at their duty posts.
Over the past two weeks, there has been a nationwide protest that started as an opposition against the now-dissolved special anti-robbery squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
The #EndSARS protest is aimed at tackling misconducts of the police unit and general hardships in the country.
TheCable Lifestyle had also reported how the National Examination Council (NECO) postponed its exam over the ongoing #EndSARS campaign across the country.
